Police in Mogotio Sub-County are investigating the death of a 17-year-old Grade 10 student, believed to be a suicide, following a reported dispute with her father over delayed school admission.

• The deceased had recently completed her Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) examinations.
• She was awaiting admission to Torongo Junior Secondary School.
• Her body was discovered in a wooded area, with preliminary investigations suggesting she took her own life by hanging.
• The incident was reported by the area assistant chief of Molos Sub-Location to Mogotio Police Station on January 14.
• The body is at Eldama Ravine Sub-County Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.
