The Kenyan government announced plans to deploy mobile sewer flushing units to enhance the maintenance of Nairobi's sewerage system under the Nairobi Rivers Basin Rehabilitation and Restoration Programme.

  • The Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, through the Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA), plans to procure two vehicle-mounted sewer flushing units for the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC).

  • Each unit will have a 4,000-litre capacity and the procurement is funded by the African Development Bank as part of Phase II of the Sewerage Improvement Project.
