A tragic road accident on the Nyeri–Nyahururu highway claimed 15 lives when a lorry carrying logs collided with a matatu near Dedan Kimathi University on Saturday evening. The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is enhancing enforcement following the incident, with Transport Cabinet Secretary Chirchir pledging to investigate. Four people were killed on the spot with multiple others injured in a separate report from the same highway location. Police in Njoro, Nakuru County rescued 67 girls from a facility operated by a travel agency allegedly preparing them for overseas employment.
