• The cause of death was severe head injury due to blunt force trauma, resulting in a significant brain injury and additional soft tissue trauma.
• Dr. Titus Ngulungu, a government pathologist, conducted the examination, while David Kuria of the Independent Medico-Legal Unit highlighted findings contradicting police claims of self-inflicted injuries.
• Cheruiyot was arrested on March 27 for allegedly threatening a neighbour and died two days later, with his family rejecting the police narrative and calling for expedited investigations into what they believe was torture.
