The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has significantly boosted its collections from negotiated tax disputes through its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program, more than doubling revenue in the fiscal year ending June. This marks a notable recovery after a substantial decline in the previous year.
- Collections reached Sh35.06 billion, a 129.22 per cent increase from Sh15.3 billion in the prior year.
- The KRA concluded 993 disputes, a sharp rise from just 97 cases concluded a year earlier.
- Despite the recovery, collections remain below the levels seen two years ago, with Sh60.47 billion collected in 2023/24.
