Gachagua Declares Ruto Administration's Time Is Over - July 2026

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has declared that President William Ruto's administration time in office is over, stating that Kenyans will reject them in future elections. Gachagua stated that July 17 marks the beginning of Ruto's retreat, which ends with one term. He warned Mt Kenya "traitors" that they would be voted out, as his party prepares to challenge the Ruto administration. Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader announced plans to field candidates across all 47 counties in the 2027 General Election. Following the DCP's significant by-election victory, President Ruto called for national unity, urging Kenyans to reject divisive politics.
