The Kenyan government has commenced the disbursement of Ksh6,000 to beneficiaries of the orphans and vulnerable children cash transfer programme, covering the April, May and June 2026 payment cycles.

• Each registered orphan and vulnerable child is receiving Ksh6,000, equivalent to Ksh2,000 per month for three months.
• The disbursement follows a nationwide mandatory biometric verification exercise conducted by the Ministry of Labour and overseen by the Gender Ministry.
• The Gender Ministry confirmed the funds are available for withdrawal through contracted payment service providers and advised beneficiaries to confirm notifications before visiting agents.
