Nation Media Group (NMG) has appointed six new directors, including media personality Julie Gichuru, to its board following the acquisition of a majority stake by Tanzanian businessman Rostam Aziz.

• This shake-up follows Aziz's Taarifa Ltd purchasing a 54.08 per cent stake from the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development.
• Notable new appointees include Julie Gichuru, Chief Executive of the Africa Leadership and Dialogue Institute; Jubilee Insurance Group CEO Julius Kipng’etich; and former National Bank of Kenya Managing Director Wilfred Musau.
• The appointments coincide with NMG's efforts to strengthen its digital business amid a reported 4.8 per cent decline in revenue to Ksh2.85 billion for the first half of 2026.
