One Killed and Homes Razed in Mau Narok Clashes; Dusk-to-Dawn Curfew Imposed - September 2025

Renewed clashes between two communities in the Mau Narok area, on the border of Narok and Nakuru counties, have resulted in at least one fatality and several injuries. Following the violence, which saw over ten homes destroyed, a seven-day dusk-to-dawn curfew has been imposed in the affected areas of Tipis and Mwisho wa Lami. One report noted that twelve homes were razed, while another mentioned three houses were set ablaze on the second day of the dispute. Residents reported that more houses were torched overnight despite the presence of security officers. The ongoing social unrest between the counties is reported to have escalated due to a dispute over electricity faults.
