Officials Assure Security and Warn Against Violence in Upcoming By-Elections - November 2025
Kenya's Minister of Interior, Kipchumba Murkomen, has assured voters of their safety during tomorrow's by-election and issued a stern warning against any planned disruptions. Murkomen also issued a stern warning to politicians against transporting criminals to the Kasipul elections. Separately, Baringo County Commissioner Stephen Kutwa assured residents of their safety during the senatorial by-election. Security measures have been heightened in several areas, with a heavy police presence reported in Kasipul and heightened security in Ang'ata Nanyokie ward and Ugunja. Authorities have warned that all election-related offenses will now be punishable by law. In Embu County, UDA Chairman Cecily Mbarire alleged that opposition leaders are planning to incite violence in the Mbeere North by-election.
