Governor Nyaribo Clarifies 13 Bodies Released to Kericho, Not 33 - March 2026

Governor James Nyaribo of Kisii County has clarified that only 13 bodies were released to Kericho for disposal, contradicting earlier reports of 33 bodies. The Nyamira County government has also denied responsibility for 20 of the 33 bodies discovered buried under unclear circumstances in Kericho County, adding complexity to the case. Meanwhile, 10 families have positively identified the bodies of their loved ones lost in a tragic accident in Nyeri. This development comes as a grim wave of road accidents claimed 18 lives across Kenya within 24 hours.
