Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has been nominated as a potential candidate by the Linda Mwananchi movement to challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election. Former Westlands MP Fred Gumo endorsed Sifuna's presidential ambitions for 2032, while Cherangany MP Patrick Simiyu officially joined the movement and declared his support. The faction confidently stated their intention to defeat Ruto during a rally in Western Kenya. Sifuna has emerged as a significant political force disrupting plans for both Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance and the United Opposition. Meanwhile, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi urged Luhyas living outside the Western region to register as voters in their current areas of residence.
