Ministry of Health Suspends 85 Facilities from SHA Amid Fraud Allegations - August 2025

The Ministry of Health has suspended 45 health facilities from providing SHA health insurance services due to alleged fraud, bringing the total number of suspended facilities to 85. This action comes as the removal of a hospital map website has raised concerns while SHA faces significant corruption allegations. Separately, an initiative is underway to provide vital health coverage to a vulnerable population by officially registering homeless children for the SHA health insurance. In a related healthcare funding issue, the Council of Governors has stated they lack the funds to hire healthcare workers for the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program.
