Two Kenyan students, Jael Achieng from Loresho Secondary and Blessed Kyalo from AIC Tangu Comprehensive School, will represent Kenya at the Global Youth Institute in Iowa, USA, in October. Their innovative projects on food security won at the Food Security Youth Conference held at KALRO in Nairobi.

• Jael Achieng's presentation focused on the impact of war on agricultural production in Bosnia and Herzegovina, proposing solutions like community nutrition hubs and home gardening programs.
• Blessed Kyalo, aged 15, researched enhancing food security in Ethiopia through water harvesting and cover crops.
• The students were selected by a panel of 18 judges and will join over 3,000 students from more than 50 countries at the institute.
