This comes as air quality in areas like the Fire Station area is deemed "unhealthy," with Nairobi recently ranked as the second most air-polluted city globally.

• Chief Officer for Environment, Geoffrey Mosiria, stated that idling engines are a major contributor to deteriorating air quality, along with waste burning and factory emissions.
• The county encourages residents to check the Nairobi County website's Air Quality section and wear masks in areas with poor air quality.
• While some areas like Dandora Phase 1 and Gigiri have clean air, most of the capital's air quality is moderate or unhealthy, with an index between 35.5 and 55.4 in sensitive areas.
