The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) announced the construction of a 147km dual carriageway from Marua through Nanyuki to the Isiolo junction. This project aims to enhance mobility and boost the region's economic potential.

• KeNHA Chairperson Winfrida Wanjiku stated this is part of 5000 Km of roads mapped for dualling nationwide.
• The project will be funded through the Ksh5 trillion infrastructure fund.
• Additionally, the 234 km Rumuruti Nanyuki road will be recarpeted to ensure safety.
• This follows President William Ruto's announcement of a Ksh3 billion bypass in Meru to ease traffic and elevate the town to a city.
