The Kenya Union of Clinical Officers (KUCO) has denied rape allegations against a clinical officer in Bomet, stating that medical examinations found no evidence of sexual assault and that no arrest or charges have been made. The union investigated reports alleging that Eric Langat, also known as Kirinyet, raped a pregnant woman at Chemaner Health Centre on Monday, February 9.

• KUCO Secretary-General George Gibore stated that the allegation was raised by a person accompanying the patient, not the patient herself.
• The patient was examined at Longisa Referral Hospital, where no evidence of sexual intercourse or penetration was found.
• KUCO confirmed that the clinical officer has not been arrested and is free, and the matter was resolved locally with the husband withdrawing his initial police statement.
