The Ministry of Education has officially opened the Higher Education Financing (HEF) application portal for first-time applicants, allowing students placed in universities and colleges for the 2026/2027 academic year to apply for government scholarships and loans.

• A total of 293,869 students were placed in various tertiary institutions by KUCCPS.
• Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba urged eligible students to apply promptly via the HEF or HELB portals.
• Applicants are advised to log in, complete their applications online, and be wary of fraud, as no fees are charged for applications.
