Following the shooting, residents of Huruma staged protests demanding accountability. A total of 61 suspects, including five children, were brought before the courts today following protests against fuel prices in Nairobi, Machakos, and Karatina. Additionally, a Machakos court ordered the detention of 43 suspects accused of engaging in chaotic fuel protests, to be held for seven days as investigations continue into the disturbances.
