Building Collapse Incidents in Kenya Leave Multiple Dead, Trapped - May 2026

Two more bodies have been recovered from the rubble of an eight-storey building that collapsed in Olenairi, Kajiado North, bringing the total number of found victims to three. Rescue operations are now entering their fifth day. In a separate incident, one person was rescued alive following the collapse of a building in Kisumu. Additionally, a Form Three student from Kenya High School, identified as Joy Wanjiru, was found alive after being missing for six weeks, though the context of her disappearance appears unrelated to the building collapses.
